Founded in 1992 in Conakry, Republic of Guinea, Stat View International began as a national research firm and has grown, over more than three decades, into an African data intelligence organization operating across 14 countries.
Milestones
Stat View International was established as an independent research, statistics, and consulting firm dedicated to supporting evidence-based decision-making in Guinea.
Appointed as Afrobarometer's National Partner in Guinea, leading nationally representative public opinion surveys on democracy, governance, public services, and socio-economic development.
Introduced Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI), GIS mapping, GPS-enabled field operations, and real-time digital data collection to enhance data quality, speed, and operational efficiency.
Expanded beyond Guinea through strategic partnerships, beginning with Sierra Leone, and subsequently delivering projects and technical assistance in Liberia, Nigeria, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and São Tomé & Príncipe.
Strengthened expertise in Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, predictive analytics, automated quality assurance, dashboard development, remote sensing, cloud-based data platforms, advanced GIS, and digital transformation solutions.
Leveraging the Afrobarometer network and strategic partnerships, Stat View International supports research, monitoring and evaluation, and data collection initiatives across West, Central, East, and Southern Africa while successfully delivering projects in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and São Tomé & Príncipe.

Where we started, where we are
SVI was built to answer a specific need: reliable, independently verified data for Guinean institutions. Over three decades, that mandate expanded — first regionally, then into new disciplines including GIS, digital dashboards, and applied AI — without changing what the firm was built on: field-level rigor, independent of any single client's interest.
SVI is led by a team with decades of combined experience in African public research, statistics, and development consulting — the institutional depth behind every engagement we deliver.
Dr. Aliou Barry has led Stat View International since founding it in 1992, overseeing more than 180 research projects for institutions including UNDP, the European Union, the World Bank, the United Nations, USAID, and the African Development Bank, with field experience across Guinea, Sierra Leone, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, and São Tomé and Príncipe. He holds a PhD in Governance and Public Policy from Maastricht University, and has served as Afrobarometer's National Representative in Guinea since 2013. From 2010 to 2014, he was a Member of Guinea's National Assembly, chairing the Budget Commission overseeing seven ministries.

He previously worked as an IT consultant for the Black-Manitobans Chamber of Commerce Inc. (BMCC) in Canada, serving as web administrator and designer.
